Not necessary at all.
Television programming, you know that primary thing you bought the TV for, doesn't even render at 1080p yet. Likewise, for 4k to be used by movies IMAX would have to become the norm for filming. That's a long way off, at best IMAX just gets used for a few scenes.
I agree with those saying that the industry should shoot for 60fps at full 1080p before setting their sights higher.
I hope this ends up being Bayonetta 2. With DMC going in a more Westernized direction we need this series to pick up the slack in the batsh*t crazy Japanese hack 'n slash department.
Nailed it? No DICE didn't nail it.
That singleplayer was not nailed. It was the opposite of nailed. It was virginal.
Multiplayer was better but anyone who thinks the aiming and shooting in the console versions of BF3 feel natural is deluding themselves. And that's not a COD vs. Battlefield things it's a battlefield versus any modern AAA shooter thing.
Olivia Munn
Doesn't act.
Doesn't game.
And doesn't pass the naked test (from what I've seen of her body anyways).
She is eye-candy for horny adolescent gamers, a marketing device, nothing more.
Graphics have definitely been downgraded but that probably has to do with the game running at 60fps now. Not a bad tradeoff if you ask me.
Slower paced games like MGS4 and Uncharted can get away with 30fps because controller lag and smoothness are less of an issue. But faster games like this one, Ninja Gaiden, and Bayonetta are better off at 60.
Yep a Jonas brother, and then fifteen minutes later Charlie Sheen.
Talk about tone deaf.
I admit, I'm in the corner of people who are tired of zombie games. And frankly I would have preferred ND explore newer territory with their first M-rated game.
But you know what, five years ago I might have been cynical about ND doing an action adventure game in the vein of Indiana Jones when all they had worked on previously were cartoony platformers. And look how things turned out.
That's just ND's style at this point. They don't pioneer...
The show was an abomination. The juvenile humor, the teabagging, the phoned in celebrity cameos, the Jonas brother, all just awful.
And it doesn't matter who they pick to host the thing, until they get some good writers and stop with the stage gimmicks the show will always be a 50th rate awards show.
Yeah there's no chance in hell of this happening. I think the exclusive was just announced as a new IP anyways.
But even if it wasn't there's just no way HL3 would be exclusive to anything. Unless a company is owned by a publisher or is being payed embarrassing amounts of money (something only Microsoft can really do) there just aren't any reasons to go exclusive.
Plus, Valve is an American company headed up by two former Microsoft programme...
I was expecting to have a laugh at the Wii version, but it's not so bad. Maybe that has something to do with the fact that the "HD" versions of COD actually run at sub-HD resolutions.
It really wasn't. It was just cheap and unfair.
Though admittedly it has nothing on the cheapness or unfairness of a COD veteran mode.
It's Japan. They don't like Western games, they don't buy Western games.
By and large anyways, there are a couple of exceptions.
The worst part I found was that enemy cover is generally indestructible while player cover isn't. On that section on the bridge where you pick up the lmg and provide covering fire, your cover disintegrates rather quickly, while the identical material protecting enemies across the street is invulnerable.
And if there is good cover your ally AI usually takes it for themselves.
Still unrealistic as hell, but it's an improvement anyway.
Not that I expect this much dedication to realism, but even in a dark space your eyes would eventually acclimate to the light. So the effect of the flashlight would diminish after a few seconds, it wouldn't be sustained the way it currently is.
The Master of Tease, good to see he can still cause the internet to pull it's hair out.
No no no. You have to phrase it so it ends up like that line in Lethal Weapon 2.
You need to make it so at the end it comes out as,
"It's just been revoked!"
What I'm saying is you have to headshot someone twice.
OR
If you have to shoot them in the torso 3-4 times.
The game is being bitchy.
Here's a pro tip. This game's hit detection sucks. So if you find yourself having to headshot someone twice or three to four times in the chest to kill them your in a fubar match and should quit while your ahead.
360 commands a slight advantage. But there's nothing mind blowing here anyways.
Screens for this game don't do it justice though. The best effect in MW games is the 60hz framerate. It won't look as fugly when you see it in motion.
Yeah before this game disappeared it was being sold as a new take on the Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad. I've been worried since it's been out of the spotlight for so long but this trailer certainly doesn't make it out to be your typical macho power fantasy bull****.
Assuming the extra dev time was put to good use this game could be this year's surprise success story, the way Arkham Asylum was in 2009.
